Chile is a country in South America, what are some plants grown there?
ok

Embothrium coccineum (Chilean Firebush), Araucaria araucana (Monkeypuzzle tree), Jubaea Chilensis (Chilean Wine Palm), Nothofagus (Southern Beech) and Lapageria Rosea (Chilean Bellflower).
Reply:the plant grow in chile is pepper
Reply:PLANT TYPES AND SOME INTERESTING PLANT FAMILIES

Trees The trees of Chile.

Shrubs These include only the larger shrubs (at least 60 cm. high), i.e. those which a non-botanic would call a shrub.

Cacti ** This is rather obvious; due to the interest in the world for these plants, this special treatment for this family is quite justified. In Chile there are more than 150 species.

Orchids ** Chile has about 50 species of orchids, all of which grow in soil; they maybe somewhat less showy than their tropical counterparts, but they have a strong potential because they are hardy and relatively easy to grow...

Alstroemerias Chile is home to many Alstroemerias, and many cultivated species in Europe and the USA stem from Chilean species.

Calceolarias ** Another beautiful family.

Bromeliaceae This is another short, but obvious section, since there are many fans of these plants out there...

Iridaceae

Mushroooms Chile is a heaven for mushrooms, there is an important mushroom export industry, so despite that they are somewhat out of place here, we still decided to include them.

Ferns This is another obvious section.

Bulbous plants Here several families of plants are combined: Rhodophials, Leucocoryne...

USEFUL PLANTS: Some useful (and not so useful) plants:

Edible plants This is quite obvious: the fruits or other parts of these plants can be eaten.

Medicinal plants The plants which in the past were known to be medicinal according to literature.

Industrial plants The plants which in the past were used for industrial applications (tanning, coloring, etc.)

Timber plants The plants which were or are grown for their timber.

Poisonous plants These plants are overtly poisonous.

Weeds ** This part may not be very interesting, because most of the weeds in Chile are of foreign origin, so do not expect anything special.

PLANTS OF SPECIAL PROCEDENCE

Endemic Plants ** The plants which originally grow only in Chile.

Rare Plants The plants which are rare and difficult to find.

Common Plants by Region These are the plants, not necessarily the most interesting ones, that you are bound to see in a given region.

Foreign Plants This section may seem out of place here, but I strongly believe that one must include all naturally living plants of a country, even if these are of foreign origin. When in field, you should not only know what is endemic and interesting, but also what may seem interesting at first sight, but is foreign.

I have already had this rather shameful experience of looking (and even taking pictures!) of what I thought to be a rather strange and interesting species... An apple-tree in the mountains! This section will help you to avoid this embarrassing situation.

Finally, there are almost 300.000 plants in the world and less than 1000 plants in Chile considered to be of foreign origin...

PLANTS %26amp; THEIR HABITATS: Some selections of plants according to their habitat conditions:

High Andean Plants ** Plants which grow beyond the tree-line, above 2000 - 2500 m.

True Desert Plants Plants which can be found in the Chilean desert (excluding coastal fog areas)

Fog Desert Plants Plants which can be found on the northern coast of Chile and which live mainly from the condensation water from fog.

Water Plants and Swamp Plants Plants which live in or near water courses or on swamps.

Plants from the North Plants which can be found in Northern Chile (1st - 4th Region)

Plants from the Central Chile Plants which can be found near Santiago, the capital of Chile (5th Region, Metropolitan Region, 6th Region)

Plants from Central-Southern Chile Plants which can be found south of Santiago (7th Region - 10th Region).

Plants from Patagonia Plants from extreme South (10th Region - 12th Region).
Reply:maybe chiles or peppers. maybe chili peppers! :(
Reply:Your first two replies are pretty exotic. The USA imports a lot of fruit from chile for our winter groceries. grapes, pears, peaches, strawberries, etc.
